When at IKEA yesterday I finally made up my mind and bought the doll's bed for Kirsten. It's not the AG original, but at least it's Swedish (well at least the furniture store is, the box reads "Made in Indonesia" ). I'm going to paint it as it's not treated at the moment.

So today while shopping in Vienna, I bought some fabric to make a quilt. Could anybody who has the Quilt tell me its size? I checked AG's homepage but couldn't find details.

Many thanks in advance.

Miki -

I don't have Kirsten's quilt, but do have Addy's. Addy's is 16 inches square (the actual quilt) with about 1 inch of lace trim around the sides and bottom. So finished it is about 18 inches wide, by 17 inches long. Hope this might help some.

Kirsten's is rather small. It doesn't cover her head and feet. It depends on how much you want her covered up but AG quilts can be up to 20X20". For siez comparison, use a standard pillow sham or pillow case and fold in half.

My daughter has just run upstairs for the quilt.... It measures 43 .5 cm. long and 34.5 cm. wide. That includes a 4 cm border on the sides and a 5 cm border on the top and bottom. The little quilt squares are 3 cm by 3 cm.
Now after trying to figure out why this doesn't all add up - its because the thing is wonky. The middle part is longer - the border is crooked and my daughter is freaking out because she HAS to have everything perfect!!! It is homemade by 10 year old girls, I say.
Anyway this will give you the idea.

Mine is not crooked. each square is one inch. Very tiny and hard to make. If you search the archives I think I posted the dimensions once before.

Thank you very much for your help. Now I can start on this little project, once I washed the fabric today - want to make sure it shrinks before it's a finished quilt.

And thank you for your offer Ria, I might take it up for something else though

I'm really excited about getting this quilt done. I bought two red prints and two blue prints, plus a blue uni colored one for the backing and border.
